Earlier today, it was reported that Ibrahim Shekarau, a former Governor of Kano State, has reportedly dumped the PDP for APC.

It was alleged that Sule Ya’u Sule, Shekarau’s media aide who spoke with Daily Trust and on Freedom Radio, said the former Governor’s decision to dump PDP was reached after “heated debates” with his supporters.

“I want confirm to you that Shekarau has decided to defect from PDP to APC due to the injustice meted on him and his supporters by the PDP leadership,” he said.

“My boss has met with Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, in Abuja yesterday and concluded plans for our return to APC.

He will meet with all the concerned stakeholders in Kano and then make his defection public.”

It was further claimed that there was no way Ibrahim Shekarau and his supporters could remain in PDP, watching the national leadership of the party dance to the tune of Rabiu Kwankwaso, a presidential aspirant and former Governor of the state, at the expense of other leaders of the party.

However taking to his Twitter handle to deny the claim, Ibrahim Shekarau tweeted;

“I’m still in@officialPDPNig,the#PDPKano consultations is still ongoing. HE Ibrahim Shekarau denied dumping PDP so far”
