Barcelona have identified a Liverpool forward as the perfect replacement for the aging Luis Suarez.
Report from Spain says Philippe Coutinho’s praise of the player sparked Barcelona’s interest.
The Spanish Champions parted with £142million up front to land Coutinho from Liverpool back in January, and he linked up with former Reds star Suarez at the Nou Camp.
But the Uruguay international is now 31 and coming towards the end of his career, meaning Barcelona are in the market for a new forward.
According to El Chiringuito de Jugones, Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino is at the top of the Catalan club’s wishlist.
They are reportedly big fans of the Brazilian’s intense work ethic and ability to press high up the pitch, turning defensive transitions into attack on his own.
The club also allegedly believe that he would work well with star man Lionel Messi, and help create more space and opportunities for the best player in the world.
Firmino isn’t as prolific as Suarez in front of goal, but his link-up play would suit the likes of Messi, Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele and Malcom.
