Real Madrid are currently on a good run of form under their interim coach Santiago Solari as they have won all three games the Argentine has coached, but ahead of their game against Celta Vigo, more good news for Solari as Spanish fullback Dani Carvajal returns to full training with his teammates after getting over his unjury.
On Thursday when the team trained after the 5-0 defeat of Viktoria Plzen in the Czech Republic, Solari welcomed back Dani Carvajal.
The Spanish right full back – who completed his first full training session with his teammates following his recovery from a muscular injury that had kept him out for seven games – now has two more sessions to get himself match fit for the trip to Celta Vigo on Sunday.
In the absence of the Spain International since their Champions League defeat in Monaco against CSKA, Álvaro Odriozola has stepped into his starting role, and it remains to be seen which player Solari will choose to start at right back against Celta on Sunday. He could opt to start with Odriozola instead of risking the returning Carvajal from the start.
Also, Marcelo and Raphael Varane are also close to making their return and were able to participate in some of the lighter parts of the training session today that did not involve ball work.
It looks like the pair will not be ready for Sunday’s game against Celta Vigo meaning that either Nacho Fernandez or Javi Sanchez will probably start in the centre of defence with captain Sergio Ramos, while Sergio Reguilón who put in a fine display on Wednesday despite a bout of vomiting and diarrhoea the night before will fill in Marcelo’s position at left back.
